The products that make it into Integral Yoga Natural Foods have all gone through a four step screening process, ensuring that they meet our quality standards. This screening process is overseen by our Store Manager, Waheguru Singh.
Our Buying Process
1. Source of the Product: We analyze where a product originates from, how it was made or grown, and the mission, vision, and reputation of that producer.
2. Clean Ingredients: We do not allow products that include: artificial preservatives, artificial coloring or flavorings, high fructose corn syrup, parabens, nitrates, or growth hormones. We strive to offer non-GMO products (all of our produce is non-GMO). A complete list of banned ingredients can be found here.
3. Department standards: Each of our departments has its own set of standards that it must meet to approve a product. Those standards can be found here.
4. If we don't love it, we don't sell it: Why would we sell products we don't love? We factor in flavor, aroma, freshness, and, of course, taste when we're making our final product decisions.
Going Above and Beyond: No High Fructose Corn Syrup. No unpronounceable preservatives. No body-harming chemicals. No pesticides. No EDTA. No artificial flavors. No genetically modified produce. And the list goes on and on. Forgive us for saying it, but: we did it before it was cool. Thanks to our hard working team members, ingredients like the ones previously listed have been on our banned list for over 35 years -- quite a long time before the Standard American Diet's canary died in the national spotlight. We closely monitor our standards and products to make sure they go way above and beyond industry requirements. We are Committed to Transparency: We have all walked into groceries and had label-anguish. Label-anguish is what happens when you begin picking up and reading the labels on interesting products and encounter that list of mystery chemicals & ingredients. Or it's what happens when you eat a product that claims to be free of a particular allergen on its label, and yet you have a reaction to it. LABEL-ANGUISH! We, the managers and workers of IYNF, feel your pain. As you can imagine, we're rather particular about the foods we choose to nourish ourselves with, too. That is why we are committed to transparency. We offer brands that we trust, and products that are as committed to transparency as we are.
